Sensei Hitoshi Kasuya, born in 1948, is a highly accomplished figure in the world of Shotokan Karate.
Kasuya Sensei graduated from the rigorous Instructors Special Training Course of the Japan Karate Association (JKA) in 1973, showcasing his dedication to the art.
His competitive career includes notable achievements, such as winning first place in both team kata and team kumite at the 1975 World Championships in the USA. Despite his retirement from competition in 1985 at the age of 37, Kasuya Sensei's passion for Shotokan Karate persisted. In 1990, he founded and became the Chief Instructor of the World Shotokan Karate Federation (WSKF), which has grown to become one of the most respected Karate organizations globally, with over 100 member countries.
Kasuya Sensei's impact extends beyond his competitive achievements. As the Chief Instructor of WSKF, he travels the world, dedicating a significant portion of his time to teaching and promoting Karate. His approach combines traditional Shotokan techniques with a unique system of rotational dynamics, elevating WSKF Karate to a level of distinction within the martial arts community.
Furthermore, Kasuya Sensei is recognized for his commitment to guiding principles that reject prejudice and discrimination, promoting friendship and mutual understanding. The WSKF, under his leadership, aligns closely with the pursuit of world peace through the art of Shotokan Karate.
